Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026
This policy explains your rights to cancel a SafeSell subscription and get a refund. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
14-day cooling-off period.
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (and the equivalent EU rules under the Consumer Rights Directive), if you subscribe as a consumer you generally have 14 days from the day you subscribe to change your mind ("cooling-off"). If you cancel within this period, we will refund you in full.
How to cancel within the cooling-off period.
If you have a paid subscription, the simplest way is to use Manage subscription (our payment provider's customer portal) from your account dashboard — from there you can manage and cancel your subscription yourself at any time. Alternatively, email us at hello@safesell.co.uk and tell us you want to cancel, along with the email address you used to subscribe and, if you have it, your order/subscription number. We will confirm your cancellation and any refund within 14 days. Refunds are paid to the original payment method you used at checkout, within 14 days of us confirming your cancellation.
Digital services and statutory rights.
Depending on your circumstances, you may have statutory cancellation rights. SafeSell does not currently rely on an automatic waiver of those rights merely because you access the service or generate documents. If you request cancellation or a refund, we will assess it under this policy and any statutory rights that apply. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
After the cooling-off period.
Once the service has begun and the cooling-off period has ended:
- Monthly plans: you can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will not be charged again, but you will not receive a refund for the days (or month) already paid for.
- Annual plans: cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid year (i.e. we stop charging on renewal), but we do not provide a pro-rata refund for the remaining months of the year you have already paid for, unless we say otherwise.
How to cancel (any time).
If you have a paid subscription, you can manage or cancel it yourself at any time from Manage subscription in your account dashboard (our payment provider's customer portal) — we have turned on self-service management so you do not need to wait on us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period (see above). You can also cancel by emailing us at hello@safesell.co.uk from the email address you used to subscribe, telling us you want to cancel. Please include the name and email you subscribed with so we can find your subscription. We aim to process cancellations promptly.
What happens to your data when you cancel.
Your business and product information stays in your browser on your own device — it is not affected by cancelling and you can keep or delete it as you wish (you can clear it via your browser's storage settings). Your server-side subscription record is kept only as set out in our Privacy Policy: while we need it to meet legal/accounting obligations or resolve disputes, after which it is deleted. If you cancel a subscription within the cooling-off period and receive a refund, we delete your subscription record unless the law requires us to keep a record of the transaction.
Disputing a charge (chargebacks).
If you believe you were charged incorrectly, please contact us first at hello@safesell.co.uk — we are happy to sort it out before you involve your bank. If you nonetheless raise a chargeback with your payment provider, Stripe will handle the dispute using the evidence of what you purchased. Any payment dispute will be handled by the relevant payment provider under its procedures. Nothing in this section affects any rights you may have under applicable law.
